The Four Step vision for the rebirth of L.W.C.
by Rev. G.A. Clark
On Sunday January 2nd 2011 Pastor Clark presented his vision for the future of L.W.C. during his annual vision casting Sunday. This vision came as the result of prayer and consultation with many people of the congregation over the last two years.
Step One of the vision and goal for L.W.C. is to begin the initial process of more effective ministry to the next generation with specific outreach and ministry to Students and their families coordinated by a fulltime Minister to Students.
Step Two is to relocate the L.W.C. church family to a newer, larger, more accessible, more visible and more family friendly facility.
It was stressed that any such vision must and will follow the direction, timing and wisdom of the Holy Spirit and will prioritize people over buildings. This is and will be based on the Scriptures in Matthew 6:33,34.
This clearly does not run contrary to the concept of relocation but rather in perfect harmony with a desire for a larger outreach to the community of Burlington in order that many others may come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Step Three is ministry and honour to our Seniors/Visitation and Step Four is Administrative Ministry in order to give property probity for the anticipated growth.
The response to the message and vision was and is overwhelmingly supportive and there is a tremendous air of excitement and anticipation for the potential which is possible through such a vision.
The four step vision for the rebirth of L.W.C. is summarized in the context of our church missions statement which is; "to build our part of the kingdom of God, one person at a time, for His glory and His purpose, becoming in ever-increasing measure a more Spirit-led, multi-generational, multi-ethnic church!"
Each and every person of all ages are being asked to prayerfully consider what God would have them do in all areas as an individual to see this vision realized. We also know that we cannot, should not and will not do this alone.
Step One in particular is about reaching out to the Students of Burlington with the Good News that God loves them!
